The Mediware KnowledgeTrak "Co-Lab" development process is a unique way to affordably make new courses available and insure comprehensive coverage of the topic.  We work with Training, Quality and Compliance specialists from multiple institutions to develop new courses using a team approach.  This collaborative process insures a more thorough coverage of the topic and high product quality while actually reducing costs to each member of the Co-Lab team.  If you are interested in a course of wide appeal that is not available in our course library, contact us about participating in a Co-Lab development.

Knowledge-Filtering
Knowledge Filtering is a unique and proprietary process. This process is a functional algorithm that guides a knowledge engineer through a process as he or she works with client content experts to get the right information to just the right people in a way that makes it most useful-in other words, it is the process of transforming information into useful knowledge. There are four filters and self-referencing processes that are applied to a body of information during a 20+ step implementation. The filters Focus, Amplify, Condense, and Link information into a re-purposed knowledgebase. A typical K-Book typically uses at least 3-5 hours of a Knowledge Filtering over a two to three week period. Click here for a more detailed discussion about Knowledge Filtering.

Content Conversion & Creation
K-Book content is either developed new or converted from existing documents and resources. In either case the development process is governed by the Knowledge Filtering process. New content involves content, subject matter, and end-user experts facilitated by an instructional designer to get the best possible outcome.

Conversion involves filtering existing resources to focus, amplify, condense, and link that material to the original source so that a user can easily assimilate the summary and determine whether direct access to the source material is required. Sometimes this conversion is not with text files, but involves converting an instructional video into a self-paced tutorial, or may use a Slide Show as source material for an interactive learning experience. The amount of time devoted to this process varies widely from project to project. Mediware can be heavily involved, or guide an internal process with the client.

Instructional Design
Our staff combine experience in knowledge filtering and multi-media content creation. They can recommend, assist or design the K-Book to consistently deliver the most effective results. Engage Mediware to design and deliver a solution for you that is simple, intuitive and effective.

Project Management
A successful project requires a successful Project Manager. The Project Manager is the direct interface to the client's content experts. Critical decisions about purpose, target users, time frames and content to be converted are part of the project manager's responsibility; as is managing to a budget. Creation of a typical K-Book takes approximately two to three weeks during which the Project Manager facilitates an interactive process to meet and exceed the customer's needs.
